Firefox 3 Rated the Best Browser when Compared to IE8, Opera9.5, and Safari

CNET has rated the most current beta versions of IE8, Opera, and Safari and has rated Firefox the best.

Some of the characteristics giving it its top rating include performance in memory handling (also reported in this village post), the amount and quality of plugins, their new bookmarking system, and the ease of use.

Other features that the Village reported on a few weeks back probably factored into their decision as well.

CNET goes on to say that while IE8 "has attempted to innovate, it's simply evolution, not revolution".

A special mention was given to Flock. Flock is a Web browser built on the Firefox codebase. Flock is focused on social network users as it attempts to integrate many of these sites and offers features such as friend update notifications, and the posting of blog entries without having to visit a blog's admin section. Probably worth a look for you blogger types...
