Click Fraud Statistics from Around the World

Click Forensics has published a heat map showing countries where the most click fraud is originating. (Red is bad, green is good). The biggest sources of click fraud are India (4.3 percent), Germany (3.9 percent), and South Korea (3.7 percent). Mexico is also in the red.

Google adsense has actually done a good job with preventing fraud and are setting industry standards in helping curtail the progress of click fraud. Their rules are so strict that even accidental clicks can get you disabled. I guess with the amount of fraud out there you have to take the necessary precautions to protect your business.

Most of this data is probably from second tier advertisers that just haven't put in the systems necessary to prevent click fraud. The data also suggests fraud is concentrated among European, Asian, and South American countries where laws or culture may play a big factor in curtailing this practice.
