Sophos claims that new and creative malware will push the total number of viruses/malware to one million by year's end. According to a report about 25 percent of unique malware has been created in the last six months of its 20 year history.

A survey from Symantec and Applied Research-West reported by Baseline show that younger workers (those born after 1980) pose a greater risk to corporate networks because of their tendency to want to run almost any device and install almost any software on their work machines.

Computing infrastructures are growing rapidly. Hardware has become less expensive and their form factors smaller and smaller. With the advent of grid technologies, virtualization,and other distributed computing methods we need to find better ways to manage the the sheer number of resources being created.

I came across this interesting presentation by Randy Bush concerning the transition of IPv6 from IPv4. It paints a gloomy picture and addresses some of the challenges and issues with migrating the world over to IPv6.
